Given a certain situation, the recipients of the badge will be able to decipher root causes and the needed data requirements in analyzing an operational issue at hand. Both from manufacturing and service perspectives, students will be able to employ the 7 Quality Control tools appropriately, according to the needs of the problem.

Earning Criteria

Company Assessment. The student should be able to do a basic SWOT and PEST Analysis of a company.

Systems-Approach to Analysis. The student should have an appreciation of systems-approach in Operations. With this at hand, the student should be able to define the problem and decipher the root causes of operational concern.

Real-life Application. Choose a company and assess the context of the company using the SWOT or PEST Analysis. Gather data on the issue at hand. Apply the appropriate Quality Control tools for the analysis. Do a root cause analysis and suggest possible areas of intervention.
