Earners of this microcredential will improve their ability to think geospatially, gain technical skills in the operation of GIS and spatial data analysis, as well as develop the capacity to deploy these technologies in the creation and modification of educational materials and curriculum. The microcredential will be of particular interest to anyone who wants to gain a fundamental understanding of GIS and spatial thinking and apply that understanding within the realm of education and curriculum.

Participants will also the ability to receive a Microcredential/Digital Badge at the successful completion of a series of three workshops: Using GIS To Enhance The Learning Experience (15 hours); Integrating GIS Activities Into the Modern Classroom (15 hours); and, participants must also complete at least one of the following workshops: Digital Earth (15 hours); Geospatial Research Methods (15 hours); GIS for Student Research and Citizen Science (15 hours).
