Sustainable Fitch’s “Applied ESG Fundamentals Level 1” addresses key ESG concepts and skills relevant to carrying out an ESG assessment. It aims to supply participants, with basic or no previous knowledge in ESG, with necessary skills to assess environmental and social attributes of a company’s business activities, and its governance structure. We award a digital certification upon successful completion of the achievement criteria.

Earning Criteria

Currently at university or a recent graduate. ESG experience is not required.

To earn the badge and certification participants must successfully complete both the assessment criteria and group project.

To earn the badge and certification participants must successfully complete 15 hours of instructor led training covering a range of ESG related courses. They must conduct an analysis and publish 10 ESG Entity Scores for Sustainable Fitch. They must earn the Fitch Learning ESG Fundamentals certificate.

In the group project, the participant must prepare a presentation for an investor introducing ESG Scores. They must also present a public side analysis completed by a team member. The presentation is assessed by a panel of senior officials across Sustainable Fitch and Fitch Learning.
