Upon completion of the National Conference or Annual Staff Training hosted by FOCUS, earner has the ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills to execute high level tasks in a fast-paced environment. Committee Member is part of a support staff team, helping the Committee Head (Level 2) execute tasks needed for a successful event. This is an optional leadership role that missionary staff can take to further their leadership development and apostolate.

Earning Criteria

Once accepted to the position, Committee Member is responsible for managing specific tasks within a project area to ensure the success of the overall event. This is typically a 3 to 5 hour additional weekly commitment to daily responsibilities.

Committee Member attends customer service training, learning how to be a great representative of the FOCUS and FOCUS Conference brand by helping attendees with any issues they may encounter leading up to or onsite at the event.

Committee Member must attend weekly team meetings for six months before the event to ensure all details and tasks are being brought to completion. Many tasks include coordinating with external vendors and/or VIP guests in a professional manner.

Onsite Committee Member works together to execute all plans within their project area. Committee Member also exercises great flexibility by addressing areas of additional need and collaborating with all the other branches of the committee structure. Committee Member is given ownership to update leadership on the projects in real time and elevate the need for greater support as required.

Onsite Committee Member is challenged to balance their role as a missionary and their project workload. They can delegate responsibilities to their students to step into their own leadership of their community in the case Committee Member needs to step away.
