Earning Criteria
-
To qualify as Committee Head, the earner must have previously served on a FOCUS committee for either SEEK or New Staff Training and/or be an experienced veteran staff member with recommendation from their manager. This is typically a 5 hour additional weekly commitment to daily responsibilities.
-
Committee Head is given ownership to delegate, coach, and motivate teammates to accomplish the tasks within their project areas. Committee Head determines and assigns deadlines across those working within that project scope. They are also responsible for tracking expenses throughout the planning and onsite process.
-
Committee Head sets and facilitates weekly team meetings for six months before the event trip to check-in on deadlines and completion of logistical tasks. Earner must exhibit professional communication with many outside vendors or VIP guests.
-
As part of training, earner attends customer service training and ensures their team attends as well. At this training, Committee Head learns how to be a great representative of the FOCUS/Conference brand in helping attendees with any issues they may encounter leading up to or onsite at the event.
-
The onsite Committee Head is in charge of ensuring the success of their project area. They also act as a leader who encourages their team in the required flexibility needed and jumps into areas of additional help. Committee Head often communicates directly with vendors and/or VIP guests onsite. They are entrusted to update Events Department Leadership on the projects in real time and elevate the need for greater support as required.
-
Onsite Committee Head is challenged to balance their role as a missionary and their project workload at Conference/Training. They can delegate responsibilities to their students to step into their own leadership of their community in the case Committee Head needs to step away. They are also given the challenge to care for their teams and ensure they are adequately handling the stress of the fast-paced environment.
-
Committee Head helps speak into post event debriefs, including future innovations and opportunities for improvement.
