The basics of computer technology and cybersecurity course provides a foundational understanding of the computer technology and cybersecurity career fields. It also examines the skills required to succeed in the field. Topics covered include computer hardware, software components, operating systems, security threats and vulnerabilities, data protection, and ethical hacking. Students will also explore careers opportunities which will prepare them for a career in these fields of study.

*Install, Configure, and Troubleshoot*: Students will be able to describe the key components of computer technology systems and the software associated with them.
*Analyze and Respond*: Students will be able to witness live cyber-attacks and discuss the response needed. Students will be able to understand what career opportunities are available within the computer technology and cybersecurity industry as well as the educational pathway needed to enter those careers.
*Professional Practice*: Students will be discussing real-world scenarios within the computer technology and cybersecurity industries allowing them to see themselves in these roles.
