Earners of this designation demonstrated knowledge and skills equivalent to the top 9-27% of a nationally representative group of high school graduates in examining scientific text, understanding and applying scientific methods and concepts, and interpreting scientific data using numeric reasoning. At this level, students may be waived from placement testing and developmental courses in this subject at the postsecondary level.
