Earners of this designation demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the top 9-27% of a nationally representative group of high school graduates in analyzing and creating text features in a social studies context, applying social studies concepts to the analysis and construction of arguments, and reasoning quantitatively and interpreting data in social studies contexts. At this level, students may be waived from placement testing and developmental courses in this subject at the postsecondary level.
