Throughout the year, students undertake a series of modules designed to develop the knowledge, understanding, skills, and values needed to succeed and face the challenges of this era with confidence.

Earning Criteria

Students participate in modules onsite, enabling them to delve into the concept of global citizenship and explore topics on identity, diversity, and privilege. They critically analyse the impact of globalization, map the effects of human actions on the planet, examine the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, and explore rights and responsibilities, power and influence, as well as ethics and accountability

During the onsite modules students actively participate in immersive learning experiences. They engage in group discussions and work together to analyse real-world issues, critically assess information, and explore solutions to complex challenges. As part of this process, they have the opportunity to share their perspectives, engage in debates, and gain new insights from their peers and instructors.

Students complete a series of independent tasks as the assessment element of the microcredential. These tasks involve various activities such as written, visual, and oral responses, data analysis, and practical exercises. In addition, students conclude the course with a personalised learning project, where they select an SDG, conduct research, and develop innovative solutions. The assessment is competency-based, evaluating their ability to apply knowledge and skills gained during the program.
Standards
This Microcredential aligns with the standards and guidelines of the National Microcredentials Framework.
Each module has a strong focus on developing the four capabilities: Critical and Creative Thinking, Ethical, Intercultural, and Personal and Social skills. Throughout the program, students will actively engage with and demonstrate these essential capabilities in various learning experiences.
The cross-curriculum priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia, and Sustainability are integrated, offering students insights into national, regional, and global perspectives, empowering them to better understand and engage with their world.
