The earner of this badge has collaborated with colleagues to explore best practices for engaging students in first-year undergraduate courses. Readings and discussions highlight the importance of faculty in helping first year (and first semester) students start strong with their GV experience. Emphasis has been placed on supporting first-generation college students and adopting evidence-based practices that increase persistence.
