Earners of the 5-day haematology badge have basic theoretic knowledge on red & white blood cell morphology, haemostasis & immunohaematology/transfusion. They have practical skills in performing blood cell morphology, completing & interpreting full blood examination for red & white cells & platelet disorders, diagnosing patients with haemorrhagic disorders, interpretating routine laboratory tests for blood group screening, phenotyping, complex antibody identification & crossmatching.
