Earners of this badge have demonstrated skills in the administration and execution of events held by Griffith Sport. They have been involved in event planning and have a preliminary understanding of the different stakeholders and processes involved in delivering successful events. They will have experience in not only the administration and planning aspects, but also in onsite liaison, through to post event debriefing.

Earning Criteria

The student must submit their resume and a covering letter addressing their suitability for the role based on the Position Description (PD) provided

The student must complete an interview with two Griffith Sport team members and be successfully appointed to the Event Internship by the Event Manager.

The student will need to complete the event administration for 1 x week of events in the 'What’s On At Griffith' calendar. This will require them to complete supplier confirmations, run sheets, contact sheet, status sheet, schedule social media promotional content, layout maps, print & assemble event folders & write a post event wrap-up article.

Each student must participate in one onsite event where they will manage stakeholders, liaise with casual staff, bump-in event equipment, operate the event & any activities as required, answer queries from event patrons, bump-out equipment and complete a post event report. This activity will be done in conjunction with the Event Officer, or a suitable senior Casual Staff member.

Students must attend the office (or designated onsite location) 1 x day per week during Week 1 – Week 12 of the nominated trimester, an 80% attendance rate is required to be eligible to receive the badge. Attendance will be recorded by the Event Manager or Event Officer.

Interning students are overseen by the Event Manager. On conclusion of the internship the Event Manager completes Skills Assessment (Rating range 1-5). Students require average score of 3/5 to be eligible to receive a badge. Assessment areas include oral & written communication, initiative, staff interaction, attitude, dependability, ability to learn, planning & organisation, professionalism, quality of work, creativity, productivity, appearance & adaptability to organisations' culture/policies.
