Earners of the MentoringPLUS badge have demonstrated the skills identified in the Mentoring badge, as well as demonstrating initiative and drive by participating in approved additional mentoring activities. Griffith Mentors have exemplified student leadership skills and are significant and valued members of our campus communities. They have participated in skills training and opportunities which have enabled them to demonstrate Griffith Graduate Attributes.

Earning Criteria

Earners have acted as a Student Mentor Volunteer. Student mentors assist less experienced students develop their capabilities and provide peer support. Student mentors share their knowledge, skills and experience.

Earners have completed the Central Mentor Training Program or another equally valid Mentor Training program. This training builds skills and understanding around Griffith support services and provides robust training in facilitating groups, cultural diversity, communication, online mentoring, interpersonal skills, academic integrity, consent, inclusiveness and disability awareness.

Earners have been nominated by the Mentoring Program Coordinator through the Reward and Recognition campaign

Earners have participated in (at least three) approved additional mentoring activities such as - • Orientation Mentor Training • Orientation Week Leader Training • Student Ambassadors Training • Consent Matters Training • Walking in Rainbow Shoes Training • Cultural Competence Training • Disability Awareness Training • Peer to Peer International Student Ambassador
