Earning Criteria

  • The learner will complete Introduction to Board Service as a pre-requisite for this badge. This is a session offered by the Johnson Center 3 times per year. It is four hours in length. The requirement to earn the micro-credential includes completion and a score of at least 70% for the three, four-hour modules.
  • Workshop 1. Understanding how emotional intelligence shapes communication• Begin to identify bias and its impact on boardroom and organizational culture• Explore the complexity of identity and culture• Identify the key elements of inclusive leadership• Implement specific tools for leadership development
  • Workshop 2. Understand what it means to be a purpose driven board• Explore what sustainability means for nonprofit organizations• Identify the various types of resources a board manages
