Earning Criteria
-
Attendance at 3 or more IPE Events. Attendance at an event means active participation with two or more health professions students. IPE events at Husson are facilitated by faculty, and students are placed into small groups of 4-6, so the discussion can be monitored. Additionally, earners have to complete a self-assessment exploring specifics about what roles and responsibilities are displayed at IPE events and what their profession contributes.
-
Written critical reflections on what was learned at the IPE Event and how it might impact your future practice. This is part of the earner's portfolio, where they evaluate how their knowledge may impact their future practice. The reflection is then assessed by their professional faculty mentor.
-
Earners must also submit a robust, authentic interprofessional learning project, completed over the course of 2 years, and presented to an audience. This may include: AHEC Mini-Grant, Clarion Competition, IPE poster submission for research and scholarship day, professional conference IP Service Learning, Rural Immersion IPE activities, or an Interprofessional Clinical Rotation. A faculty mentor will provide feedback and evaluate the student’s eligibility for the IPE distinction.
Standards
The curriculum prepares all students to provide entry-level, patient-centered care in a variety of practice settings as a contributing member of an interprofessional team. In the aggregate, team exposure includes prescribers as well as other healthcare professionals.
