The course explains the underpinnings of how Groovy enhances the Java programming language through meta programming. The students are also taught how to use dynamic typing, overloaded operators, builders, traits, Meta Object Protocol, AST Transformations, and various pieces of the GDK. The course walks through real-world tasks such as parsing and generating XML and JSON files. It provides a surface level introduction to REST and the students will integrate with a basic REST service.
