• As this qualification contains a range of optional units, this person is able to demonstrate a mix of knowledge/skills from the following areas:
• Leading Innovation and Change (504); This person understands the need for innovation and change management within an organisation and can propose innovative solutions to improve organisational performance. They can also lead and manage change within an organisation.
• Managing Recruitment (514); This person understands human resource planning in an organisation, and can plan and implement recruitment in line with legal and organisational requirements.
• Becoming an Effective Leader (522); This person understands their own ability to fulfil key responsibilities of the leadership role, and can evaluate their ability to lead others.
• Knowledge and Information Management (529); This person understands the concept and importance of knowledge management in terms of an organisation’s knowledge assets and their management.They understand the key knowledge management processes required for innovation and can develop a framework for establishing a knowledge management culture.
• Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring within an Organisational Context (550); This person can understand the purpose of coaching and mentoring within an organisational context. They understand the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be an effective coach or mentor, and the importance of effective contracting and management of the coaching or mentoring process.
• Developing Personal Effectiveness and Impact (601); This person can apply the ‘meta skills’ required for being an effective manager and understands leadership behaviours within orgainsations. They can also apply their understanding of crisis management, agility and resilience to improve their personal impact.
• Developing Critical Thinking (602); This person understands enquiry-based approaches to research, problem solving and decision-making models, and how they are used within their own operational environment. They can also apply critical thinking as a management behaviour.
• Progressive Discourse in Modern Leadership (603); This person understands leadership and management theories, and the implications of them for their future practice. They understand the impact of their own leadership identity and brand, and how it supports influencing, engagement and collaboration. They understand how leaders can support an inclusive, innovative and diverse culture within organisations.
• Delivering Outcomes through People (604); This person understands their own role in the planning, recruitment, retention and wellbeing of people and can lead high-performing teams. They also understand how to support the principles and practices of learning and development in high performing teams.
• Optimising Organisational Capacity (605); This person can review and optimise organisational and resource capacity. They can establish a road map to show how disruptive technologies can influence the optimisation of organisational capacity. They can communicate suggested improvements to optimise organisational and resource capacity in a digital world to stakeholders.
• Maximising Data Efficiency for Organisational Success (606); This person can employ performance management approaches, and data analysis to evaluate organisational performance. They can appraise performance data, and produce strategic recommendations to inform organisational direction, and can inform and influence stakeholders to adopt recommendations aligned to strategic objectives.
• Leading a Sustainable and Future Focused Organisation (607); This person understands the impact of an organisation’s ability to act responsibly. They can develop plans based on the drivers for change in order to provide a future focus for organisations.
• Delivering a Commercially Focused Strategy (608); This person can promote a creative culture and high-performing teams for commercial advantage. They can review the commercial strategy, identifying existing and future markets, innovative opportunities and organisational capacity, and can deliver a revised commercial strategy to key stakeholders.
• Principles and Practices of Risk Management (609); This person understands the importance of risk management, analysis and control within an organisation and can develop risk management plans.
• Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (610); This person can develop creative and innovative thinking skills and practices to optimise future business opportunities. They can create ideas for an entrepreneurial business initiative whilst considering its feasibility.
• Project Management (611); This person can construct a scope and supporting business case for a project, and can implement and lead a project within their own area of responsibility. They can evaluate and communicate the project outcomes considering the impact on own professional practice.
• Introduction to Strategic Management (612); This person can understand the strategic management process, and the role of cross functional interaction in supporting organisational strategy. They can support and assess the process of strategic management and cross functional interaction.
• Evolving Approaches in Leadership and Management (717); This person understands innovation and change in an evolving world, and the potential impacts on leadership and management. They can create a development plan taking into consideration potential impacts on evolving leadership and management practices.
