(Note: the CFM exam is no longer offered, but IMA still maintains the credential for those who are certified as CFMs.)

Earning Criteria

  • Pass the CFM exam
  • Have two continuous years of professional experience in management accounting or financial management
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Maintain membership in IMA
  • Abide by the IMA’s Statement of Ethical Professional Practice
  • 30 hours of continuing professional education are required annually to maintain CFM credential
