ISV & AHISA Aspiring Principal Program 2023

The Aspiring Principal Program prepares educational leaders for Independent school Principal roles through a tailored networked learning model. Participants gain practical insights into the principal's role, develop self-awareness through DISC analysis and peer-feedback surveys, and explore leadership through coaching and mentoring. They also lead a strategic change initiative within a school setting.

Earning Criteria

Actively participate in four in-person full-day workshops and four online Master Classes, that include presentations and provocations by global academics and thought leaders. Content includes, but is not limited to: Shaping school culture, thinking and leading strategically, big picture education megatrends, recruitment, legal, coaching and mentoring, financial management, employment relations, etc.

Build strong networks with Aspiring Principal colleagues from other Independent Schools, undertaking professional conversations utilising protocols and frameworks to assist learning with and from each other.

Undertake DISC Assessment and a Growth & Development peer Survey to review behaviour characteristics, leadership strengths and areas for growth.

Develop skills in peer coaching and mentoring to explore leadership perspectives and provocations.

Participate in coaching and feedback debriefing to review strengths and set tangible goals for growth and development.

Deliver a showcase presentation of a complex strategically aligned change initiative, with evidence of how the Idea into Action Tools and specific learning and provocations have influenced outcomes.
