Inquisitive and Critical Thinking
This skill badge is awarded to those young musicians who have embraced the concepts of inquisitive & critical thinking including the ability to ask questions as their interests develop, to have the mental flexibility to imagine from different perspectives, & then connect these concepts to existing knowledge. To earn this skill badge, students also demonstrate an aptitude for creative thinking, the capacity for self-motivation, & the desire to explore musical topics in-depth.

Standards
The Young Artist Program, for ages 14-17 by audition, prepares students for effective appearances on stage and a musical career through intensive musical experiences with faculty, theory/solfège, music history, masterclasses, and concerts. In the summer, they can attend IIMF in Europe, performing live and possibly meeting their IISM professors.
