Music Theory 101YA
Music Theory 101 is designed to introduce and expand upon the students' knowledge of the fundamentals of music theory, including, but not limited to: an understanding of fundamentals of notation, including the reading of treble and bass clefs; knowledge of rhythm, meter, and related concepts; diatonic and chromatic half steps; whole steps; major tetrachords; major scales, keys, and key signatures. Ear training work complements the theoretical concepts covered everything in music is ear training.

Standards
The Young Artist Program, for ages 14-17 by audition, prepares students for effective appearances on stage and a musical career through intensive musical experiences with faculty, theory/solfège, music history, masterclasses, and concerts. In the summer, they can attend IIMF in Europe, performing live and possibly meeting their IISM professors.
