By the end of the year, students acquire advanced music theory understanding including harmonic analysis of 4-part chorales by J.S. Bach, modulation by pivot chord, secondary dominants, applied chords, the correct usage of various 6th chords, & the ability to write 16th century counterpoint in 2 parts for all 5 species except the Locrian mode. They can fluently read French solfege syllables in a variety of clefs, perform rhythmic exercises in 5/4, 6/4, & 7/4, & a mixture of those time signatures

Standards
Students ages 8-13 audition for InterHarmony International School of Music’s Precollege Program then study privately with faculty in-person or online, attend a catered program of theory/solfège, masterclasses, and concerts. In the summer, students can participate in IIMF in Europe, performing live and possibly meeting their IISM professors.
