Stage Hand - Technical Stage Specialist
Stage Hands are students who have volunteered, received training, & proven themselves valuable assets to the Stage Crew. This job requires physical endurance, strength and, knowledge in the areas of technical staging, lights, safe handling & stage configuration of concert grand pianos, video cameras, & sound systems. To acquire these skills in such a short period of time students must be well-rounded & adaptive, work well under pressure & complete many tasks behind the scenes.

Earning Criteria

Complete training under Stage Managers & InterHarmony Stage Technician Staff for at least 2 weeks of the duration of the festival.

Knowledge & experience safely moving & caring for grand pianos, including instrument placement, stick placement, desk placement, & acoustic & traditional knowledge of piano placement for various ensembles.

Acoustic & traditional knowledge of ensemble setup & placement

Following directions of the stage manager.

Professional attitude.

Quick reactions to unforeseen situations on stage. Examples: remedying malfunctions of stand lights or stage equipment, falling equipment, incorrectly placement of instruments, stands, or music.
