Earners of the IAAP CPABE Level Three: Expert have demonstrated, what accessible built environment professionals are expected to know with experience across a variety of specific disability focused environments and a support of the majority of types of disabilities. This certification defines what an expert accessible built environment profesional is expected to know and deliver to promote accessible, safe, and usable buildings and public spaces.

Earning Criteria

IAAP Certified Professionals in Accessible Built Environments (CPABE) Level Two
Ten + years of experience with a focus on accessibility as a design/building/public spaces professional (architect, engineers, urban planner, etc).
Demonstrated experience in making accessibility recommendations for the needs of at least six types of disability in built environments/public spaces.
Participation in at least ten (10) accessibility assessments of varying spaces/building types, four examples must be submitted.
Submit a portfolio of work for review and participate in an interview with a panel of built environment professionals.
Agree to uphold Code of Conduct and Ethics as an accessibiity professional.
The CPABE Level Three is maintained across three years with ongoing professional development, sharing knowledge beyond core work responsibilities, and leadership activities.
IAAP Professional Certifications belong to the individual who has earned and maintained their Professional Certification. IAAP Professional Certifications do not certify an individual's company, or organization's products or services.

Standards

ISO 21542 knowledge is mandatory

UN CRPD knowledge is mandatory.
