Master Certified Coach (MCC) Credential-holders are highly trained (200+ hours) and experienced (2,500+ hours) coaches. They have demonstrated knowledge and highly proficient application of the ICF Core Competencies, Code of Ethics, and definition of coaching. Earners show a commitment to high ethical standards and have demonstrated, through rigorous assessment, a high degree of competence and fluency in a variety of skills in their work with clients. The MCC must be renewed every three years.

Earning Criteria

Completion of at least 200 hours of coach-specific training that meets ICF guidelines for credentialing.

Completion of at least 2,500 hours of client-coaching experience since the start of their coach training.

Completion of 10 hours of mentor coaching with an eligible mentor coach.

Submission of a completed application for the Master Certified Coach Credential.

Pass both knowledge and performance assessments at the Master Certified Coach level.

Hold or have previously held a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential.
Standards
The ICF core coaching competencies were developed to support a greater understanding of the skills and approaches used within today’s coaching profession as defined by the International Coach Federation.
The Code of Ethics is designed to provide appropriate guidelines, accountability and enforceable standards of conduct for all ICF Members and ICF Credential-holders, who commit to abiding by the ICF Code of Ethics.
