IEAA Best Practice Award 2024 - The World's First Homestay Quality Standards

Issued by International Education Association of Australia (IEAA)

Study NSW, NEAS Australia and homestay providers developed Australia's first government-supported, industry-led quality standards for homestay accommodation. This unified framework enhances the homestay experience for international students and supports quality service providers. Contributions came from education, government, associations and legal experts. Within 6 months, over 25,000 homestay beds were endorsed, attracting new hosts and easing pressure on a tight rental market with low vacancy

Earning Criteria

This award recognises the work of an individual or team that has contributed to international education through a groundbreaking development in international development, internationalisation of the curriculum, marketing or recruitment, international support programs, pathway, learning abroad or social inclusion initiatives.
