Earning Criteria

Complete the self-paced, online study segment on fundamental, theoretical knowledge in second-language acquisition, linguistics, teaching methods and strategies to successfully instruct English as a foreign language. Pass unit-end quizzes and a 75-item multiple-choice, comprehensive final exam with 70 or up. Upon completion, teach actual EFL students in a teaching practicum of 50 hours during which more than six hours are trainer observed.

Achieve a score of 70 or higher in class preparation, class execution and self-evaluation as well as in teaching-related projects: student assessment and evaluation, textbook selection, material’s compilation, and foreign language experience journal. Prepare and teach the last four of the required six trainer-observed teaching practicum classes without trainer assistance to demonstrate your readiness to enter an EFL classroom.

When working towards their Master of Education, graduates of the iTTi 120-Hour Combined TEFL/TESOL Certification receive a waiver of the three-year teaching experience requirement and credit for two courses: Curriculum & Instruction Planning & Development Dimensions of Learning: Application in classroom.
