Earners of Experiential Learning have participated in a semester-long experiential learning experience for a minimum of 96 hours total. Experiential learning may include, internship, fellowship or volunteer opportunities that are aligned with the student's major and/or career goals. These activities may be completed for academic credit (requires appropriate course enrollment) or independently (without course enrollment).

Earning Criteria

Students must complete an Experiential Learning Application in John Jay Careers Online. For students completing an internship as a course requirement, you must select the course you are interested in completed. For students who are participating in an experiential learning activity without credit, you are required to select "No credit" to be able to track your hours.

Students must participate in an Experiential Learning activity (internship, fellowship, volunteer opportunity) for the duration of one full semester (Spring, Summer or Fall) for a total of 96 hours. Completing an application in John Jay Careers Online allows students to document their internship and their hours at the site.

Earners of this badge must complete a program assessment and have their supervisor complete an evaluation of your performance. The program assessment and employer evaluation are sent by the career staff.
