Basic Life Support (CPR) for Healthcare Providers

The student has developed a basic understanding of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, discussed medical and environmental emergencies as they might relate to CPR, and gained insight into the structure and function of the emergency medical services system. They have demonstrated the most current practical CPR skills, including CPR and airway obstruction techniques on adults, children, and infants. They have also been introduced to the automated external defibrillator (AED).

Earning Criteria

Upon successful completion of all American Heart Association standards, the student will receive affirmation at the Basic Rescuer level (Healthcare Provider).
