The Distinguished Service award is intended to provide a systematic means for recognizing and rewarding excellence in job performance for all full-time faculty who have complete five years of full-time experience at Johnson County Community College. Earners receive a $5000 cash award.

Earning Criteria

Earners self-nominate by submitting a teaching portfolio.

Earners must submit a portfolio which includes: Distinguished Service Form Completed and signed by the applicant and Dean; a personal Statement not to exceed five pages, summarizing the applicant's activities and accomplishments during the past two years with all comments addressing the award criteria; supporting documents that address the two academic years prior to the semester of application.

Earners will be assessed by an external judge selected by the Faculty Association president. Criteria include: Performance of Job Responsibilities, Divisional and Institutional Responsibilities, Community Engagement, and Professional Development.
