Earners of the badge for Quick Changeover have participated in a SMED workshop, defined and implemented change at the machine floor, and sustained measurable results for improvement of changeover time. Earners demonstrated application of the SMED tools within their work groups and / or assets. Additionally, earners implemented sustainable change within their scope of work.

Earning Criteria

The earner completed a formal workshop for Quick Changeover, Grade Change Improvement or SMED. As part of the workshop, the earner participated in a variety of hand-on tools such as: the spaghetti diagram, work combination table, internal / external activities.
The earner used the above tools to design a new work flow for Changeover or Grade Change. As part of the team, they supported the implementation of the new work flow and took feedback from team members actually performing the work.
The earner sustained the new work flow over the next month and recorded the results of the improvement. Through both workshop knowledge and experience, the earner deployed a successful changeover improvement.
