This course focuses on regulatory steps to protect consumers in the online marketplace, a fast-moving field and laws and regulations. It looks at contract law issues unique to Internet-based commerce, privacy legislation, the application of consumer protection laws to e-commerce, laws regulating unsolicited emails and spyware, sales tax of e-commerce transactions, the Financial Services Modernization Act and the regulation of Internet gambling and crypto-currencies.
