Excellence in Instruction is an online, student-centered orientation for faculty that highlights the best teaching practices and policies at LCCC. The course addresses: inclusive classrooms, course management, compassionate teaching, assessments, instructor workloads, and transparent grading practices. It includes videos and assignments from LCCC instructors to inspire and provide practical and course-ready materials to be used as needed in individual instructor’s classes.

Create inclusive learning environments: adopting recommendations for Universal Design and Accessibility and employing new technologies. Model classroom and assignment expectations through instruction and behavior, course materials, and one-on-one and group engagement. Promote rigorous learning current and thorough instructional materials that engage students. Design and implement challenging activities, assignments, and assessments that are transparent and reflective of course objectives.
