Instructor-led workshop focuses on setup, operation, maintenance, and reporting aspects of fusion splicing. Hands-on course, learning proper usage of various types of fusion splicing equipment and best practices for preparing and splicing single fiber, ribbon fiber, and fusion splice connectors. Immersive hands-on practice exercise beyond typical exposure and manufacturer training. Other areas covered during the course include cable preparation, proper routing of splice trays, and documenting.
-
Earners demonstrate hands-on understanding of equipment maintenance, equipment preparation, and fiber preparation as it relates to fusion splicing. In addition, learners have demonstrated fiber preparation and splicing of various fiber types and on a variety of splicing equipment, tested actual splice loss and compared it to estimated losses on the splicer, demonstrated proper fiber handling and routing practices using repetitive practice. The final involves accurate reporting and documentation.
