In compliance with the Department of Health Services (DHS) statute 129, this course outlines the fundamental technical, legal, and ethical knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for success in the Nurse Aide role. Students implement basic nursing skills and basic restorative skills, with a focus on delivering individualized care to adults and elders to promote independence and quality of life. Students also review concepts of communication, roles and responsibilities, and resident rights.
