In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength & national identity. This award honors those whose service positively impacts communities across the nation, & celebrates the recipient's deep commitment to community service. It is bestowed by the Corporation for National & Community Service, with Madison College’s Volunteer Center as the certifying organization.
