Teaching the Skills That Matter Learning Labs (v.01)

Through guided discussion and group work, recipients of the Teaching the Skills That Matter Badge learned how to effectively use three approaches- problem-based, project-based, and integrated and contextualized learning- to teach foundational skills that are essential for the workforce and civic and community life. They also created a lesson using one of the approaches which was shared with adult education instructors across the state.
Earning Criteria

Attend 3 sessions (4.5 hours total) and at least 2.5 hours outside of the learning labs to create or adapt a lesson plan using one of the approaches

Create and contextualize a lesson in Health, Government, Financial Literacy or Digital Literacy using one of the three approaches.

Submit the lesson to be shared with other ELL instructors.
