Hacking and Penetration Testing

Students will have a technical overview of hacking, including how attackers conduct surveillance to identify security weaknesses, footprinting a targeted site, and the methodology hackers follow in exploiting known vulnerabilities. Students will have experience designing a penetration test plan, implementing intrusion detection systems, and performing incident response with basic digital forensics and be able to describe ethical hacking and penetration testing tools.

Earning Criteria

Successful completion of the Hacking and Penetration Testing (CMPT 417N) course. A passing course grade with an 70% or above. Completion of all activities identified in the course syllabus.
