Resident advisors were taught how to mediate conversations between 2-10 people regarding interpersonal issues relating to personal relationships, romantic relationships, and living situations. They were taught to be impartial and how to set personal bias aside to allow for an effective resolution to be made. Resident advisors were taught to manage situations and understand when a mediation would not be effective and find more efficient solutions.
