Community Engaged Scholar: Certification I

Issued by Merrimack College

Badge earners work towards growing their capacity for leadership and public service while developing more profound self-awareness that enhances their ability to collaborate. Activities include a minimum of 30 hours of service learning and 20 hours of training modules and reflection workshops centered on identity, self-awareness, and citizenship. After completion, they are well equipped with various tools to effectively lead a team working towards a shared goal.

Complete 15 hours of service learning in neighboring communities. During these hours, badge earners will put into practice themes and skills learned in the reflection workshops and asynchronous training modules related to individual self-awareness, community building, and leadership. This service-learning will be facilitated through Merrimack’s Steven’s Service Learning Center.
