Earners focus on developing communication and collaboration skills that enhance their ability to support a wide diversity of students. Earners learn new techniques for integrating diversity and inclusion into their success coaching practice. Earners discover tools to facilitate collaboration among all perspectives on campus. Earners will learn different points of view to enhance support for students, faculty, and staff from underrepresented groups.

Earners attended a 60 minute workshop discussion on addressing difficult conversations with students and families to facilitate student progress and foster student growth. Earners learned how to address difficult topics and conversations with students while respecting and recognizing diversity. Earners discussed recognizing positions of privilege and power dynamics in conflict, and identified solutions to create equality and a respectful path to move forward.

The Advising and Supporting competency area addresses the knowledge, skills, and dispositions related to providing advising and support to individuals and groups through direction, feedback, critique, referral, and guidance.
