Earning Criteria

Have a working knowledge of both the IT environment and the healthcare environment to be eligible for the CAHIMS.

Pass a comprehensive, standardized exam. The CAHIMS exam is a two-hour exam composed of 100 multiple-choice questions.

Adhere to a Code of Conduct and recertify every three (3) years through at least 45 hours of continuing professional development, at least 2 hours of which must be in ethics or conflicts of interest topics.
