Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

Program earners of this badge will complete SMAW in multiple positions, with E7024, E6010, E6013, and E7018. Students will have the opportunity to complete a 3G 1" practice test that will help them with a requirement for an apprenticeship for ironworkers, steamfitters, boilermakers, or sheet metal workers.

Completion of WELD-313-150-SMAW Practices, a 5-credit college-level course. AND
Completion of WELD-351-150- SMAW Processes, a 1-credit college-level course. **OR**
Completion of WELD-313-500-SMAW Practices, a 5-credit college-level course. AND
Completion of WELD-351-500-SMAW Practices, a 5-credit college-level course.
All badge costs are paid via tuition associated with courses within the badge. Badges are issued to those who complete these courses with a letter grade of C or better.
