This badge earner completed a 3-step process to become a Mercy Associate. They entered into a covenant with the Sisters of Mercy based on the shared values and traditions of Catherine McAuley. They pledged to support the SOM in their mission, ministries, and spirituality by focusing on the critical needs of our time: care of Earth, anti-racism advocacy, justice for women, justice for immigrants, and non-violence. They demonstrate their love of Christ in service to the poor, sick, & uneducated.

Earning Criteria

The pre-associate, in consultation with a mentor, discerns a call to begin the formal orientation process and submits Form 400: Mercy Association Interest Form

Upon completion of orientation, the pre-associate and Local Area Facilitator submit the the following forms to the Office of Association 10-12 weeks prior to a covenant date. Form 401: Mercy Association Application, Form 402: Discernment Questions, Form 406: Consent/Release and Communications Agreement, Form 404: LAF Recommendation Form

Once all documentation has been approved by the Office of Association a covenant date is established and the individual enters into their formal agreement with the Sisters of Mercy as a Mercy Associate.
