Through Molloy’s membership with Quality Matters (QM), the Office of Blended & Online Learning has been dedicated to upholding continuous improvement. Molloy’s Quality Online Course Design badge celebrates quality online courses designed to support diverse students in achieving the stated learning objectives. The badge indicates that the online course has met the selected standards of the Molloy Quality Course Design Rubric, which represents a subset of the Quality Matters Rubric.

Earning Criteria

Molloy faculty member who has taught the online course within the past year.

The faculty will have successfully completed Molloy's Teach, Learn, Course Design Online (TLC) or earned a TLC waiver. TLC is a fully online, 2-week faculty development course focusing on best practices of hybrid and online teaching and learning. TLC covers the hybrid/online mindset shift, framing and designing a hybrid/online course, active learning strategies, aligned assessments, and ongoing resources.

The faculty will have successfully completed Molloy's Reviewing Course Design with Quality Matters (RCDQM). RCDQM is a fully online, 2-week faculty development course that includes an introduction to Quality Matters (QM), a detailed review of the QM Standards, and guidance on how to apply the QM Rubric.

The online course will have met all of the standards listed in the Molloy Quality Course Design Rubric at an 85% level as reviewed by two internal Molloy reviewers.
