Participants completed an 8-hour workshop consisting of online instruction and hands-on applied group work focusing on COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Participants exhibited critical inquiry and data analysis skills of the SARS-CoV-2. Displayed analysis and critical thinking skills through peer discussions.

Participants reviewed the general structure and function of viruses. In addition, through group discussions, participants gained an overall understanding of how the immune system works and its role in fighting viruses.

Participants reviewed both primary and secondary sources which resulted in learning to read and analyze data from the lab. They also compared their analysis of how media outlets reported on the virus and presented to their comparisons to peer groups.
