MCTS Taster training program develops expert tasters to evaluate beer, malt beverages, and other beverage categories. Tasters ensure the high quality and consistency of Molson Coors beverages, assess product, process/packaging improvement initiatives, evaluate product, process/packaging cost saving initiatives, and guide the development and qualification of new product and packaging innovations.

Earning Criteria

Complete 75% of flavor and scaling training sessions (26 of 35) which inculde attibute training, scaling attribute intensities and profile scaling of global and regional brands.

Identify 70% of 34 flavor attributes in blind testing.

Participate in multiple threshold intensity scaling on 15 attributes ranging from not present to moderate-strong intensities.

Complete descriptive analysis and brand profile familiarization of global and regional brands using MCTS.

Complete oxidation recognition of various types of beer and beyond beer beverages at fresh and various points throughout the shelf life of the product, showing the flavor degradation over time and highlighting the characteristics that change within each brand.

Annual Recertification: · Recertified on all 34 attributes with >70% competency · Participate in global/regional scaling exercises and bi-annual scaling of 15 attributes · Maintain >70% on flavor identification and scaling external testing · Participate in >4/6 external flavor identification testing · Participate in >3/4 external scaling testing · Attend >40% of MCTS taste panels
