Cyberpowers - Immersion Day
Issued by
Monash Tech School
Earners have gained foundational insights into the humanitarian and mathematical aspects of cybersecurity. They can use skills that they have developed to obtain a proactive rather than reactive approach to cybersecurity, including analysing vulnerabilities, evaluating risk, and understanding social impact. Earners have participated in an Industry Immersion Day at Monash Tech School, designed and delivered in collaboration with RMIT University School of Science.

Earning Criteria
-
Earners have applied statistics and risk management to analyse vulnerabilities in the societal use of passwords. They evaluated low, medium and high-level risks, focusing on tech and human-centred behaviours and processes.
-
Using a virtual simulation, earners examined the effects of cyber attacks on a small business, investigating possible vulnerabilities and the associated risks and consequences. Earners created a response plan to implement to mitigate the risk for the community asset.
-
Earners emulated an Instagram page using Google sites to discover the vulnerabilities of social media accounts. They used nodal mapping technology to analyse the connections between how people post online and their relationships with others.
-
By participating in this Industry Immersion, earners have accrued and identified a range of "Superpowers" that resonated with them most. These superpowers are attributes considered critically important for professionals who are working in cybersecurity. These include - attention to detail, active listening skills, empathy, teamwork, capacity to work under pressure, negotiation, and intuition.
