Earners of the Water Quality Basics badge have acquired basic knowledge of the following: water quality issues including primers on the hydrologic cycle and determinants of water quality; key issues such as fate and transport; iron, manganese and hard water; fire in the watershed; animal feeding operation; nutrients in water; wastewater treatment; and emerging contaminants.
