Earning Criteria

• The earner demonstrated their ability to create basic programs in Scratch containing multiple sprites while explaining the role of algorithms in Computer Science.
• NanoBadge: Algorithms
• The earner created a series of programs in Scratch using multiple sprites working in parallel. They have also made connections to this relevance of pattern detection across other school subjects to design a lesson plan using these skills.
• NanoBadge: Looping & Parallelism
• The earner created multiple Scratch programs using custom blocks, multiple scene changes and broadcasts. They have also detailed the many ways in which the open source community inhibits innovation across multiple industries by designing a lesson plan to emphasize this concept.
• NanoBadge: Remixing & Open Source
• The earner created programs using advanced features such as augmented reality (AR) and translation tools. They also redesigned a lesson to support an environment of learning that is conducive to student creativity.
• NanoBadge: Learning Through Discovery
• The earner remixed another Scratch user's game to add features such as enemies, obstacles and score to enhance a the gaming experience. They also designed a capstone lesson that requires a student to create a game in Scratch which utilizes previous learned Computer Science concepts such as algorithms, parallelism, variables, and more.
